Hilliard Post Employees Go the Extra Mile
Recently, two Hilliard Post Office employees went the 'extra mile' to help a customer. The customer, in turn wanted to publicly thank the employees for their valiant efforts on his behalf.
Mr. Bill Dillard, along with his wide, was passing through Hilliard while traveling to Ponte Vedra. He stopped in the post office to purchase two postcard stamps and mailed them at the Hilliard office. While he was handling his business, he somehow left his money clip lying on the counter without realizing it. It has no identification, just money.
When postal employee Daphne Guynn found it, her first thought was that it must have been that customer. She and Melony Collingwood, another postal employee, proceeded to go through the mail to try and find the postcards that the man has purchased. They found the cards and through much investigation tried to find an address to locate the person. When they got what they thought was Mr. Dillard's address, Hilliard Postmaster, Nathan King, sent a postcard to Mr. Dillard telling him they had his money clip and money and could he call the office.
Mr. Dillard was ecstatic about the news and so grateful. Mr. Dillard sent a letter to the Postmaster General in Washington D.C. commending the ladies on their effort. He also contacted the Westside Journal.
It's wonderful to live in a community where people are honest, loyal, and care about others... even people they don't know!
