SAVANNAH--The U.S. Postal Service will offer a 2012
W.W. Law Special Cancellation Stamp in recognition of the life work of
Westley Wallace Law and his over 40 years of service as a mail carrier at a
special ceremony on July 27.
The W.W. Law Foundation will introduce the
commemorative public awareness art campaign in honor of one of Savannah's greatest heroes as it unveils both the
physical display of CAT bus signs and the Ralph Mark
Gilbert Civil
Rights Museum
façade banner.
In addition, the public is invited to the
campaign launch outside the Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum, Friday,
July 27 at 3 p.m.
The campaign focuses on telling the story of
W.W. Law in everyday Savannah
life, in a city known for its visual and historic storytelling.
A second special event entitled:
"Celebrating and Commemorating the Life and Legacy of W.W.
Law" will be held at the Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum on
the evening of Sunday, July 29 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
This event highlights the life and legacy of
W.W. Law on the 10th anniversary of his passing with select
artifacts from the W.W. Law Foundation and remarks on his life from guest
speakers.
