The
Gainesville Postal Team would like to give a big “THANK YOU” to letter carriers
Cherie and John Rollen who volunteered their time to represent the U.S. Postal
Service at the annual Touch-A-Truck event held on May 19.
This event
attracted over 3,300 people and benefits the Children's Miracle Network and
Backpack-for-Kids. Click 'Read More' for more details & photos.
Also, a table
was set up to provide information on all the USPS products and services to
include EDDM and Ebay and the upcoming seminars; with free cups and “goodies”
for the kids.
Cherie and John
work at the Gainesville GMF. Cherie is a rural carrier and John is a city
carrier, and both said they had “the most awesome day!”
Their grandson
Rama Van Shuster could not wait to get in “my papa’s truck” and their
granddaughter Alana Leigh Shuster enjoyed people watching and looking cute!
Cherie said she
was so happy to give “visibility of the U.S. Postal Service not only in our
classrooms but also supporting our community functions”. The Rollens’ both say they enjoyed it so
much; they look forward to volunteering next year!
“I want to thank
Cherie and John for selflessly giving of their valuable time to represent the
Gainesville Post Office in such a positive way, for such a great cause” says
OIC Leisa Williamson.
“It makes me very proud to be working
with employees who are engaged and conscientious about, not only their job, but
our business and all we have to offer to the community here in Gainesville.”
