Cheryl
LeBarge, Custodian for the Arlington Post Office has volunteered with the
American Legion Auxiliary for more than twelve years. She says she received her
“calling” when she attended her first “Homeless Veterans Stand Down”. Since
then, she volunteers with the Veterans Administration – Military Affairs to
help assist homeless and at risk veterans.
The Veterans Administration is only
one group she assist, Ms. LeBarge also volunteers with the local Veterans of
Foreign Wars (VFW), Operation Home Front who assists National Guard and active
duty service members and their families. Ms. LeBarge’s next event is a Homeless
Veterans Stand Down held August 3-4 at the fairgrounds in downtown Jacksonville. Volunteers
are always welcome.
