The CFC belongs to you -- North Florida District's 2012 goal is $195,000

The Combined Federal Campaign provides employees with an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those in need – to help sustain community, state, national and international health, educational, environmental and human services.

District Manager Eric D. Chavez recently kicked off this year's campaign in Jacksonville and embraced this year's goal of $195,000 which is up from last year's goal of $179,000.

"Postal employees have good jobs and make a great living.  We should have no problem making our goal of $195,000," said Chavez.    He also shared his personal testimony of using the Marion County Association for Retarded Citizens for his son who has Down's Syndrome.

For 50 years, the CFC has offered:

Choice – Employees can direct their pledge to the organizations that are closest to their interests.

Convenience – Workplace giving has advantages.  Through payroll deduction employees can have a small amount deducted from each paycheck.  Cash and checks are also accepted.  Online giving is available to many agencies.

Confidence – Each charity is screened by federal peers.  Requirements of each charity include: a Health and Human Service impact statement, IRS determination letter, tax form 990, and certified audits where appropriate.

Employees don’t have to go far to find people in need – many family members, friends and neighbors will at some point benefit from the services of charities participating in the CFC.  Whether it’s advances in medicine provided by research, support for aging parents, disaster assistance or the opportunity for a child to participate in after school programs –  all employees have something to gain by supporting the campaign.

Questions about this year's campaign may be directed to this year's District Campaign Chairman, Tammy Ross.
